It’s that time of year again - the time of year when the weather in Paris abruptly shifts from crisp autumn to cold, wet winter. While of course, we love Paris in any season, we’re definitely entering the season of warm drinks, comfy chairs, and soft light. Aka: Cozy Season.
To honor this shift, we’ve put together a list of 5 fantastic places in the City of Light where you can grab a tasty drink (or meal) without sacrificing the comfy, cozy vibes of your living room. While many more exist (find them in our guide!) - here are our top five this season:

The Coziest Cocktail Bar in Paris
Fifty-Fifty, 74 Rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud, 11e Arrondissement
You’ll love snuggling up next to your partner at Fifty-Fifty: a low-lit, tiny bar located on Rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud, in Paris’ 11e district. This delightfully intimate spot serves up some stellar classics, as well as some new takes to spice things up. We’re particularly crazy about the Deepika (Rum, Chaï, cinnamon and salt), but you can’t go wrong with their Espresso Martini or Old Fashioned, either.
Great for: A romantic evening, late night drinks, kisses on the couch.

A Parisian Speakeasy
L’Épicier, 24 Rue Notre Dame de Nazareth, 3e Arrondissement
It’s probably a prerequisite for calling yourself a speakeasy - must be cozy - and l’Épicier does it with tons of quirk, style, and kindness. Located in the northern part of the third arrondissement, you’ll love how central this place is. The staff is delightful, and the cocktails are tasty, too. And the best part? You’ll have to figure out how to get inside yourself, because the address will take you to a minimart hole in the wall…
Great for: Going out vibes for when you don’t really want to go out… but you do.
The Classic Paris Wine Bar
Delicatessen Place, 7 Rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud, 11e Arrondissement
Delicatessen place is a great choice if you want a somehow lively-yet-chill atmosphere in a fantastic foodie area of town… and if you’re into really good wine. Their small plates are delicious too, but we’re here for the orange wine and the low lighting. This is a great place for a date, or with friends, and you can come for a drink and end up staying the whole night.
Great for: Something casual but feel-good.
One of the Most Romantic Spots in Paris
Le Mary Celeste, 1 Rue Des Commines, 3e Arrondissement
Located at the edge of the Marais, Le Mary Celeste is a place we’ve been recommending for years. It’s the perfect location for an entire evening of indulging - from apèro, to sharing plates, to a late-night cocktail. We recommend reserving, because this spot is very popular, and for good reason. The cocktails are fresh, creative, and mouthwatering. Their oeuf mayo are among our favorites in Paris. And of course, their team is incredibly welcoming. Pair that with some flickering candles and an oyster or two, and you’ve got yourself a dream Parisian evening.
Great for: The quintessential evening of romance.

Dinner by the Fire in Paris
L’Insolite, 30 Rue de la Folie Méricourt, 3e Arrondissement
And finally, this recommendation will take you back up to the 11e, on Rue de la Folie Méricourt (perhaps you’ve been to this street for brunch before at Café Méricourt). L’insolite is on our list for a few reasons, but today we're here for the wood burning stove at the back of the main room. The largest establishment to make our “cozy” list, having a woodstove makes it a top contender. And on top of that, you can indulge in some homemade pasta and natural wine. What a way to chase the winter blues away!
Great for: Intimate vibes but make it full plates of food.
BONUS: Looking for a cozy, plush, and incredibly romantic hotel for your wintery trip to Paris? Be sure to check out Maison Proust Hôtel & Spa. Their rooms are themed after literary characters (yes, that’s absolutely romantic in our eyes) and their pool is perfect for a privatized dip. Then, pop down to their fantastic bar for a cocktail that’ll knock your socks off…
Looking for more hotel recommendations? You’re in luck - we’ve recently added several snazzy hotels to our guide, thanks to our good friends and Paris expert, Lindsey Tramuta. Not only does she have the best recs, but she even authored an article on what to keep in mind when searching for hotels for your next visit to Paris.
